Though Doctor Clarkson, and your hospitality, of course, has made me feel quite welcome. I am glad to find so much important work to do.” An awkward silence followed, which Combeferre could not puzzle out, until the doctor spoke.
“My lord,” Doctor Clarkson let his gaze settle on Henri for a pointed moment, “Mr. Combeferre has proved very helpful, and a quick learner as well."
