As strange as it all might be, Katie believes her even before Sybil begins to explain what she now remembers. Watching her speak is almost hypnotic, and now Katie is certain of it. She speaks of these things like someone who's lived them, who's recalling them now, tired but sure, even as Katie is sure she must still be grappling with the reality of it herself.
