Katie reaches then for Sybil's hand and squeezes it. She can only imagine how much that would sting to hear, but Henri has to understand that there's nothing Sybil can do to control such a situation. He's always seemed like such a rational man, and so loving with Sybil. She has to believe he'll understand.

"Of course you do," she says. "You married both of them for a reason. I'm sure he understands. We can only control the lives we're living now. Not even that."
